DIY baking mixes …..Instant Falafel mix

When it comes to instant mixes falafel might not be the first one you think about. Without a doubt is sure makes life easier if your a falafel fan!

We went on a falafel kick early spring- Inspired by a vegetarian style fast- with a store bought instant mix from a bulk store. They were AMAZING! I loved them. We probably ate our weight in falafel during those 40 days. Without a word of a lie.

Boxed goods are hardly economical for growing family pantry. Even if they are shelf stable they are laden with salt preservatives and way too-overpriced. Can you make the mix yourself… yes! Jamie Geller created a simple falafel using the same chickpea flour top boxed brands use. You can tailor this mix up to suit your family tastes… do you like your green dill falafels? or spicy chilli blend? Simply adjust seasoning to suit your tastes.

Serve these along side fresh dill yogurt, or maybe marinara sauce for Italian inspired dish. Enjoy precooked balls cold in wraps or salad. The ideas really are limitless.
